To the friends, family, and supporters of Joshua "Skeves" Luftspring
As you may have heard from Josh or through the grapevine by now, he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer that has spread to his liver, lungs, and brain.
Some might say he has a low chance of surviving, but Josh doesn't see it this way, and neither do the people in his corner. Many people beat horrible cancers and terminal diagnoses all the time, and Josh can beat it too! He's not done yet and won't go down without a valiant final fight. We all believe ruthless optimism, committed action, prayer without ceasing, and mercy from God can get him through this.
Thankfully, Josh has a few super supportive people behind him helping him tackle this from all angles: allopathically, naturopathically, nutritionally, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and so on. And online, he also has a solid group of supporters who have his back. Many have enjoyed his music and comedy for over a decade and would love to see him keep creating content for decades more. If you want to check out his music, visit and subscribe to his YouTube Channel here.
Unfortunately, the only treatments covered by OHIP are allopathic treatments. Taken on their own, these will undoubtedly take a lot out of him. But taken with other effective natural supplementary therapies, he will be able to keep a healthy diet and good nutrition and give his body what it needs to remain as nourished and strong as possible in this battle.
We have done extensive research, and these are some of the additional therapies that can help him big time and their approximate costs:
Vitamin C IV Cancer Treatment
Unbeknown to most, doctors have been administering intravenous vitamin c since the early 1970's to help treat various cancers at different stages. There is a huge difference between orally vs intravenously administered vitamin c. This might be one of, if not the best natural weapon in Josh's arsenal as it will simultaneously complement the chemo and help attack the cancers. It will also give Josh increased energy, elevated mood, a bigger appetite, and overall feelings of well-being. The most critical aspect of fighting and winning wars is soldier morale. And this will definitely help keep Josh's morale high.
A single IV vit c treatment ranges from $225-$275. The price depends on the dosage, customized vitamin mixture, and clinic locations. 1-2 sessions per week for six months / 26 weeks would be approximately $6,500. If after six months he's still kicking and doing much better, he can continue with these therapies for 6-12 more months, and even years, to ensure complete remission.

Green Juices
Doing a monthly green juice cleanse will help Josh flush toxins from his body and replenish himself with the goodness of fresh cold-pressed juices. Doing a 3-day protocol once a month will cost $166.46.
Also, having fresh veggies and non-sweet fruit on hand so that he can make his own fresh juices will cost about $50/week.
Supplements
With just diet alone, Josh will have a tough time getting the concentrated quantities of high-quality vitamins, minerals, and nutrients known to help fight cancer. Below is a list of the exact ones he needs to start taking:
- Pancreatin - Dipan-9 180c = $151.85 / month

- Tumeric Curcumin Capsules - Smarter Turmeric Curcumin - Potency and Absorption in a SoftGel - The Most Active Form of Curcuminoid Found in the Turmeric Root - 95% Tetra-Hydro Curcuminoids (90 Servings) - $199.79 / month

"Some studies suggest the curcumin in turmeric has a variety of health benefits, including fighting cancer cells. Some lab studies have found it might work against lung, breast, prostate, and colon cancers. Others suggest that curcumin might help chemotherapy work better."

Strict Organic Whole Foods Diet
As he fights the good fight, several foods will help Josh stay well-fed and nourished. It's so easy for people fighting cancer to eat what's around in the house or just not eat at all. Fortunately, many foods are known to help contribute to fighting cancer and recovery (source). These are the foods he will need to keep stocked up on that he can easily put in smoothies or cook easily:
- Apples
- Asparagus
- Blueberries
- Broccoli and Cruciferous Vegetables
- Brussel Sprouts
- Carrots
- Cauliflower
- Cherries
- Collard Greens
- Cranberries
- Flaxseed
- Garlic
- Grapefruit
- Grapes
- Kale
- Oranges
- Pulses: Dry Beans, Peas, and Lentils (Legumes)
- Raspberries
- Spinach
- Squash (winter)
- Strawberries
- Sweet Potatoes
- Tea
- Tomatoes
- Walnuts
- Wholegrains
The initial outlay would be around $500 and the weekly budget for eating like this would be around $150/week.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
We know Josh is incredibly grateful for all the support and messages and calls he's been receiving. It's kind of overwhelming for him. As he prepares to start chemotherapy please keep him in your prayers and give him space to go through this tough stage. The best thing you can do to support him is contribute to this fundraiser and share it with others. Financial stability will give him the ability to get what he needs and be a huge boost in morale for the days, weeks, and months ahead. Stress (financial, social, existential, etc.) is a big part of all of our health issues and something that we can all help reduce in Josh right now with our generosity and prayers.
Sincerely,
Josh "Skevious Tips" Luftspring and his team of supportive family and friends
