My name is Lindsey Baldwin and I am helping out my friend Joshua with his dream of participating in sailing competitions. Please read and donate; every little bit can make a difference!
Hi! I’m Joshua Molfino, a 25-year-old sailor from Paraguay. Sailing isn’t just a sport to me—it’s the place where I feel strong, free, and truly myself.
I first started sailing in the Pampero Class, a popular boat originally from Argentina, before discovering the ILCA Class, which I now compete in. Recently, I was invited to race in the ILCA Mercosur Cup at Itaipú Lake, an incredible opportunity for my sailing journey! But I currently don’t own my own boat or gear, and unfortunately, these costs are beyond what I can afford alone.
Sailing has significantly improved my mental health—it’s given me a sense of clarity, purpose, and happiness. My dream is to someday compete in the Pan-American Games and perhaps even represent Paraguay in the Olympics. Beyond competing, I also want to help make sailing more visible and accessible here at home, encouraging others to experience the joy it brings.
How you can help:
I’m aiming to raise around $5,000 USD to purchase:
- An ILCA 6 sail (~$700 USD)
- Rigging and systems (~$1,000 USD)
- A used Laser boat (~$3,500 USD)
- Transport and other small essentials (~$300 USD)
These costs are estimates, and I’ll always prioritize affordable, second-hand options to maximize each donation.
If the campaign doesn't reach the full amount, I’ll still look for more affordable alternatives. If I surpass the goal or find cheaper gear, any remaining funds will support maintenance, future training, and additional competitions.
Every donation makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this campaign would mean a lot to me.
Thank you so much for supporting my journey!
See you on the water! ⛵
