TLDR: I need multiple surgeries that will take approximately 2 years before I can regain eyesight out of my right eye.
Around Christmas 2016, I noticed I was having another recurrent corneal erosion (a roughly monthly side effect from my LASIK surgery 5 years ago) and decided to lay down for a nap. Forcefully awoken from pain an hour later, I called my doctor into the office (after hours) for what soon turned into a daily trip to identify the extensive damage to my eye.

What happened was more than a simple abrasion this time. My opthamologist discovered there were both bacterial & fungal infections, ulcers, and deep impact growths in addition to the complete scarring of my cornea and removal of all epithelial layer protecting my eye. My female doctors/patients tell me the abrasion pain alone is worse than childbirth, but all I can say it has been the most physically and mentally painful experience of my life. I was in this state from the initial occurence until mid-Feburary 2017 (roughly 2 months).
Insurance was going to cover 75% of the necessary surgeries, but due to shifting work situations the cost is going to be significantly higher. This means that for my first of several future scheduled surgeries starting on April 5th 2017, I will not be under my normal insurance coverage.
I detest asking for help, but several people have mentioned that I should set this up so...here I am...asking for your help. If you know me, you know this is not an easy thing for me to do.
