I'm proud to announce that I've officially been selected to represent GB students over the half marathon at the FISU World University Games 2025 in Germany this July.
However, in order to compete, I'm required to cover a "cost of participation fee" which is £2,300. This cost will not be funded by my university, national governing body or by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), who have confirmed they will not be offering financial support for athlete participation this year.
Any contributions will help cover:
• GB students participation fee - £2,000
• Flights and transport to and from Germany- £300
Competing for GB is a lifelong goal of mine and being able to represent GB student would fulfil a dream that only last year seemed unlikely. This is a stepping stone in my athletics career and an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up so I would be really grateful for any support, whether through a small donation or by simply sharing this page with others.
As an athlete this is my first opportunity to represent my country since entering the sport in 2016 and competing competitively since 2021. In that time, I’ve gone on to win a number of County Championships and have competed around the country and in Europe over distances from 1,500m to the half marathon. Furthermore, being able to represent St Mary's University over the last couple of years has been a huge privilege which has allowed me to compete with friends against the top universities across the country.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting me and for being part of my journey to the World University Games.
