Help Josh Recover and Play Drums again

Hello everyone, my friend Josh needs your help. Josh is a great friend to many, a musician in the local scene in bands such as Luna Falling, VinnyOnFire, and has filled in for many more. He’s always cracking jokes, checking on people, and never ceases to make people smile. You can genuinely tell by being around him how much music means to him as well as the people around.

Tragically, recently Josh had made an attempt on his own life—luckily unsuccessful as he deserves so much more out of life. It was kept private while he was in critical care as we did not know what to expect from the road ahead, but he is making huge strides and has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

Unfortunately, a few months prior, Josh was laid off and does not currently carry insurance. With that comes a lot of medical expenses. He and his family are not the type of people to ask for help or handouts, so they are exploring options to be self-sufficient in this manner, but I am setting this up so we can help their family out with whatever will likely be left over. As for the goal, I’ve never done this before so I kept it on the lower end so we can contribute as much as we can!

Josh recently opened up to the public and shared his account of what happened, this is what he had to say.

“TW: Suicide... On Monday, September 2nd, I put a gun to my head and pulled the trigger. No one, not even my closest friends, knew I was suicidal.
I was a raging alcoholic. I had been drinking that night. I was found by my dad on the floor, unconscious with a gunshot wound to my head. I ended up in the ICU on life support, the neurosurgeon couldn't believe I was even alive.
When I regained consciousness, I moved my right hand in a scribble motion to try to communicate that I wanted to write since I couldn't speak due to being intubated, and the first thing I wrote was "Am I gonna be able to play drums again?" When I'm discharged from the hospital, l'll be going to a rehab facility for physical therapy to regain the use of the left side of my body since the injury left it partially paralyzed. Since l've been in the hospital l've been able to regain some movement but I still have a long way to go with PT. I'll also be undergoing treatment for alcoholism. It's gonna be a lot of work but I'm a strong individual with a dream and the deepest love for music and drums and I can't wait to get back to it. My friends and family are incredible people and I'm so grateful to have them all in my life, the support they've shown through all this has been amazing. As scary as all this has been, if I can use my story to help someone else then maybe this all wasn't for nothing. If you have suicidal thoughts, don't do what I did. Reach out.
Scream for help. We're all in this together and we need to be there for each other. You're here for a reason. That reason might not show itself often but it's out there and you will find it, I promise. Just keep pushing forward.❤️”
