On June 5th, my brother Josh was rushed to the emergency room due to weakness. After multiple tests and a CT scan, he was told that he likely has lymphoma. Since the June 5th ER visit, he has since been hospitalized 3 more times receiving blood for critically low hemoglobin levels. On June 9th, a lymph node biopsy was performed that ultimately resulted as “inconclusive”. On July 9th, he returned to the ER with confusion which has now resulted in going into the ICU with dialysis, septic shock, nephrostomy tubes and on a ventilator. Another biopsy was repeated on July 11th and that has come back negative. Yet another biopsy will need to be repeated for a 3rd time as clinically the oncologist states all symptoms are pointing them towards a cancer diagnosis.
My family and I are asking for donations to help with financial aid at this time. Josh was working for a temp agency that was unable to provide him with medical insurance coverage when all of this happened. Josh had accepted a new position with better pay and benefits but was too ill to start the position. He will not be able to go back to work for the foreseeable future as once we get through all of this, we likely will be focused on treatment for his lymphoma.
