My name is Josh Parks. On 6/25/25, I was hit by a truck driven by a driver high on cocaine, terrorizing the streets of our neighborhood.
Seeing not only my children but neighbors and their children in danger, I did what any man/father would do. I went to tell the driver to slow down. The driver then looked at me with the eyes of a demon, turned the truck straight towards me, and ran over my foot, ankle, and lower leg. He then attempted to run me over two more times. At that time, I legally defended myself with my firearm. After the police showed up and secured the scene, the driver was apprehended 2 miles away at a local hospital.
I was then loaded into an ambulance and taken to Methodist Hospital to get treatment for a crushed foot/ankle injury. It was determined by the ER doctor that I had severe muscle and tissue damage to my right foot and ankle, leaving me in a boot for 4-6 weeks and unable to go to work for a week.
I'm now receiving medical bills almost daily and have accumulated nearly $15,000 in medical debt and $30,000 in legal fees. It could be years before I see any restitution, if I see any at all. This whole situation has mentally broken me and financially crippled me.
