Help Josh McCall fight Leukemia!

At the beginning of February, Josh McCall was having routine bloodwork done when he received some devastating news. He has been diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ALL for short). As this is a very aggressive cancer, he was immediately admitted to the hospital to begin chemotherapy. His treatment plan is a marathon, not a sprint. He will be receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatment for the next full year and then he will need a bone marrow transplant, plus many tests and other medications along the way.

Josh’s girlfriend, Nikki is taking wonderful care of him and driving him to and from his appointments as well as being with him in the hospital every day during his stays. Josh is maintaining an incredibly positive attitude and in true “Josh-fashion”—being a smart-a** to everyone around him. (We all know he doesn’t like pity so don’t even try to feel sorry for him.) He does need our support though, while he fights to kick this cancer’s butt.

Josh will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future and Nikki will be taking a lot of time off. Between the fuel needed to drive the hour each way, almost daily, for treatments with rapidly increasing price tags-- they need our help. One of his prescriptions alone is $15,164/month. His insurance covers a lot of his treatment but no prescriptions, so we are looking into cancer foundations to help with the bulk of that.

***For the bone marrow transplant: once a facility for the transplant is decided upon, family and friends will be able to start getting tested for a match. When more information is available for this step, I will let everyone know.
