Hello! My name is Josh Doody, and I am a tenor drum player from West Haven, Connecticut.
Ever since I was young, I've wanted to march a World Class drum corps. Seeing videos of top groups motivated me to get better and keep pushing myself. I've spent years practicing and working to get to where I am today, gaining experience with various groups such as the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps. I am proud to say that I’ve been contracted to march my age-out season with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps for 2025!
For those who may not know, Drum Corps (DCI) is one of the highest levels one can reach in the marching arts. It is a very demanding and challenging activity, both physically and mentally. During the summer months, each corps goes on a tour around the US, playing in various states and competing against other drum corps, performing a show that members spend months preparing for.
There is also an age limit for the activity, which caps out at 21. This would make this my "age-out" season, meaning I won't be able to march on a full tour after this season.
Marching has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. That being said, this activity can get expensive, as each member is required to pay dues to help with the costs of equipment, transportation, etc. Due to the nature of marching a World Class group such as the Colts, my member dues are upwards of $5,000, which is not easy to cover by myself.
Any amount of support, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. It will go a long way towards helping me fulfill my dream of marching my age-out season and keeping my tuition costs low.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for helping me achieve my dream of marching with the Colts this summer!
