Help Josh & Katie Cooper
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Julie Cooper. The night of November 27th, 2021, we got a call from my son. "My house burned down!" he cried. "Dad, my house is burning."
Josh and Katie bought their first home less than 6 months ago. It needed a lot of work, and in the last 6 months they have replaced the heat & air conditioning, put on a new roof, painted walls and cabinets, and bought furniture. Their whole focus has been creating a safe and happy space for their three children, their dogs, and their bunnies.
He and Katie were still awake when they heard an odd cracking sound. Josh immediately went out to the kitchen to check on what it was, and soon discovered the black smoke pouring in from the garage. They got their children out safely.
Their beloved family dog, Danner, and their bunnies were not so fortunate.
They lost everything else, except for their vehicles.
At this point, we do not know what caused the fire, just that it started in the garage. What the fire didn't ruin, the smoke and water damage did. They got out with what they were wearing.
Josh is a sheriff deputy for the county of Sonoma, and spends his life serving others. He is just devastated. I am hoping those who would like to help them get back on their feet might have a place to contribute. I had no idea what to put for a goal. He went to the store yesterday to get the girls clothing and shoes and school supply basics and it came to $1000, without getting a thing for himself or Katie. They have insurance, and hopefully restitution will eventually come, but they do need help getting back on their feet, while they grieve for all that was lost.
If you would like to contribute, it would deeply appreciated.
