My name is Andrew Cox, and I have had the privilege of being a caregiver for Josh Luster, a 27-year-old who is disabled and uses a wheelchair. For a little over two years, I have watched Josh light up every day when he gets to go out in his van. It’s more than just transportation for him—it’s his ticket to independence, adventure, and happiness. Unfortunately, the van that has served him so well is now on its last legs. With over 300,000 miles, a lot of rust, and mounting mechanical problems, it’s become unsafe for Josh to travel in. Wheelchair vans are expensive, and replacing one is a challenge we can’t meet alone.
A new wheelchair van would be life-changing for Josh. It’s his only way to get from point A to point B, whether that’s to important doctor’s appointments or simply out to enjoy the world around him. Josh loves nothing more than riding around, exploring new places, and experiencing the freedom that comes with mobility. Without a reliable van, he misses out on the things that bring him the most joy and the essential trips that keep him healthy.
We are setting up this GoFundMe to help Josh get a new wheelchair van—one that won’t break down, one that he can look forward to getting in every day, knowing he is safe and happy. It would mean the world to both of us if you could help. Please donate if you can—anything helps. If you’re unable to donate, we would be so grateful if you could say a prayer that Josh will get the van he needs to continue living life to the fullest.
