Hi there! I'm Josh Colletta, a creative professional who's worked in audio, video, journalism, sports announcing, and graphic design. I recently lost my job due to a back and hip injury that left me unable to physically get to work (I don't have a car, I walked) and perform certain job-related physical tasks. I also have a heart condition that prohibits much physical work, and mental disabilities that make certain organizational and time management skills a severe weak point for most employers. In the time since losing my employment, I've also suffered a heart attack and a stroke, leaving me without peripheral vision to my left side (my eyes are fine, it's my brain that can't process that area anymore).

While I'm attempting to get situated on Social Security disability and other welfare programs, some processes have hit unexpected snags while others are known to take a long time for approval.

I had been making about $2,000 per month after taxes with my previous employer, and while I've cut back on unnecessary expenses, that rate is still roughly the amount that I need to stay above water until all of my assistance becomes available.

In addition to looking for work-from-home jobs, I'm venturing out on my own, setting up my voice work business and various other ventures to capitalize on my talents and, hopefully, not have to rely on an employer or disability in the future. The money from this fundraiser will be going toward just the basics: food, rent, utilities, medical and prescription costs, etc. -- but I want to assure you that there is a plan here; I am capable of being self-sufficient.
