On what should’ve been a normal afternoon, Josh Carter’s life changed in a matter of moments.
While Josh briefly stepped into the Circle K on Carolina Beach Road, his car was stolen — with his dog Leftie inside. The fear and panic that followed is something no pet owner should ever have to feel. Minutes later, police were in pursuit of the suspect, eventually stopping the vehicle after crossing the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. Leftie was recovered safely, the suspect was arrested — but Josh’s car was completely totaled beyond use.
This sweet face you see above — Leftie — made it home.
But the vehicle that Josh depends on every day did not.
