Help Josh buy a real functioning, reliable car!

Hey, I’m Josh. If you’re reading this, you’re probably someone who knows me. Or maybe you know someone who knows

me. If you don’t, it’s nice to meet you and thanks for taking time to read something like this from someone you don’t even know. You could easily be watching Barry, or Ted Lasso or something instead, and you aren’t. So either way thanks. Now, onto my story, why I am making this GoFundMe.

Once upon a time, when I was in my twenties, I had a little four door silver Chevy Cavalier. Ohhhh, and life was good! Silver and I drove all over the place, taking road trips and going to concerts and shows all over, in and out of state. Eventually I was convinced by my lovely mom to upgrade to something else. Spoiler alert; this is one of those times where I should NOT have listened to my mom. Just a month after my warranty expired, my transmission began to slip, noticeably. Then came the electrical issues. The car would be dead every time I tried to start it. All of this while doing my best to support a house full of family members. It took literal years of mechanical guesswork to figure out what was wrong. By that time, it wouldn’t matter, because a tree was going to fall on my car. No, seriously.

In need of a non tree smashed car, I turned to Facebook marketplace and, having just gotten that COVID stimulus check, (thanks Joe,) I lucked my way into the Buick Roadmaster I have now. I love that car so much, but the underneath is completely rotten, and will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. Like, stuff is going to snap soon, haha!

That’s where this GoFundMe comes in. Turning again to Facebook marketplace, I stumbled upon exactly the car I need. A 2001 Buick LeSabre with 61k miles. I don’t have the means, financially, to buy this car outright. I also am not in a position where I’m able to take out a loan, even through my credit union. I absolutely feel sick having to ask for help in this way, when people have helped me so much in my life, but this car would genuinely be a life changing thing for me. Doing research, the engine in this car is notably extremely reliable, and looking at its carfax, the car was impeccably maintained. Meeting my goal for this GoFundMe would cover the cost of the car, and also the tax and title on it.

I can’t stress enough how hard this is to do, for ask for help on a scale this large. The fear of judgement is pretty white hot in my brain, but I promise I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t need this help.

As an added bonus, if you live within a four hour distance, I will personally drive to your house and deliver you a dozen donuts to express my gratitude to you for your help. Anyways, I’m gonna shut up now.
