If you have spent any time with Josh and Rebekah, you know the kind of people they are. Kind. Good. Humble. Hardworking. And generous with everyone. They exemplify what it means to give freely and share all that they have. They are the salt of the earth and the kind of people you want in your corner through your hardest moments.
Recently, they were dealt one of their hardest moments when Josh unexpectedly suffered a heart attack and had to be life-flighted to a hospital equipped to help save his life. With the prayers of many supporting him, he underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery and came out of it like a champion. He wowed his team day after day in the recovery wing of the hospital as he worked hard to move his body, heal, and do everything they asked of him. With Rebekah and the boys cheering him on, Josh was able to meet the criteria necessary to be released from the hospital and is now home recovering.
While he takes the time needed to heal his heart and body, Josh's activities are extremely limited. Rebekah, Abby, Jericho and Jairus are doing the best they can to take care of Josh while also running the family business and taking care of their ranch.
Josh and Rebekah don't have insurance and are about to be flooded with a mountain of medical bills from the hospital as well as all of his necessary follow-up appointments to ensure his heart is healing and his body recovering.
All in all, August was an incredibly hard and miraculous month for the Stallings family. It started with the Lee Fire coming across their ranch. The house was saved and most of there pasture, by some hard working firefighters and God's grace. They did lose fence and pasture, but all in all they were very blessed. They were evacuated for 3 weeks with livestock having to be dry-lotted at some amazing friends’ arenas. Just as they moved all the livestock home and started getting the ranch back in shape, Josh had his heart attack and surgery. The fire left a mountain susceptible to debris and mud slides. The Forest Service is concerned about it flooding their house and are working on a plan to build a berm to divert the mud and debris away from the house. They hope to get the berm in place before the next round of storms. The Forest Service will cover 75% of the expense, but the rest will have to be paid by the Stallings.
Amidst all of this they want to express how miraculous it is that Josh is still alive. If even one of many small details would have been different, he may not be here with us today and for that alone are beyond thankful.
As their family and friends, we are asking for help to lighten their load and to return the kindness and generosity that they have shown to so many. Many hands make light work, and even a few dollars multiplied by many can make a big difference! And if you aren't in a place to help financially, prayers are always appreciated. We are all so grateful to God to have Josh still with us and recognize the miracle it is.
Thank you for any help you can give to support this wonderful family that has done so much for so many.
