I'm Josh, I'm a certified structural welder from Florida. My service animal, Khaleesi, and I relocated to KY after hitting a stroke of bad luck and almost losing everything in the hurricanes of 2024.
I went there with promises from my immediate family to help get me back on my feet, only to be put out on the street. Currently, I am bouncing from campground to private property in a tent trying to find some stability. Getting work is no issue for me, as I said, I'm a certified welder. The issue is not having any stability and wondering where I'm gonna lay my head each night.
And because of that and not having a stable place to keep my service animal while I'm at work and the fact I don't have reliable transportation due to my truck giving out on me, I am unable to hold on to a job. If I had a kick start, a way to rent a room for a bit until I could lock down some paychecks, I could get somewhere. This not having transportation anymore is a huge struggle and hinders a lot, especially when I'm now in a state where I don't know anyone at all.
A jump start is all I need, if you could find it in your heart to help me and my service animal out that would be greatly appreciated. It's about to start getting really cold out and unfortunately, the tent doesn't offer much protection from the elements.
