Help Joseph turn plastic into education!

UPDATE: Thank you so much everyone for helping Joseph with his first goal. The framework of the roof is up and he now needs to finance the rest of the build. It is important to get it ready before the rainy season in a few weeks so that he and his team can carry out their important work over the coming months.

My son Joseph started his project, Joseph Recycling in Bali in 2022 and his idea was to collect recycling and use the profits to raise money for children to go to school.

He set up a weekly recycling pick up service and now has 100 members. He has employed 3 people to work on his project who were unemployed, one of which is now going back to finish her education in the evenings thanks to Joseph's project.

In the first year he paid for 7 children to go to school, and this year he paid for 24 children.

Joseph does beach clean ups to raise awareness of the plastic in our oceans. He also cleans the mangroves with volunteers.

Creating things out of plastic waste has been a natural part of his journey and he now makes keyrings from bottle lids and shampoo bottles which he sells to also raise funds.

Joseph Recycling also runs English lessons for local children in the community which also provides education on sustainability and plastic reduction.

This project has been so beneficial to Joseph personally too. It has given him alot of confidence and the freedom to explore what he is interested in.

The project has grown organically and it would be great to get some funding to help Joseph take it to the next level.

He needs to install a roof in his new storage building. He would also like to buy a machine so he can make more products quicker. This will mean he can pay for more children to go to school.
