Joseph got released from prison on March 17, 2026, and I want to help him get a fresh start. We became friends in 2021, when I helped him gather building materials and furniture for a shed he was building to live in. Joseph is quiet, sincere, and honest—qualities that have earned my trust. I was especially moved when he left a note on my door asking for some old plywood, rather than just taking it. That simple act showed his respect and integrity.
Joseph’s journey has not been easy. He served 30 years in prison from 1989 to 2019, and after a parole violation during the COVID pandemic, he was returned to prison in November 2024.
Now, as he prepares to re-enter the world, he faces the challenge of starting over with almost nothing. I want to help Joseph secure a place to live. He has a friend that will allow him to have a trailer on their property, so I want to help Joseph buy a trailer to live in.
Joseph also needs help with essentials like food, a phone, and a UTA bus pass, while he looks for work.
Joseph is also committed to finishing his Project Management degree at Ensign College, where he has been offered a scholarship if he continues his studies this year.
Joseph recently wrote me a letter from prison, sharing his story and his hopes for the future: “My name is Frederick Joseph Germonto and I come to you today on the wings of a prayer asking if you might be willing to assist me with a little ‘startup capital’ on ‘my New life.’ ... if it's one thing I have learned from these 30 years in prison and my four years of semi freedom it's ‘don't try to do everything all alone - ask - ask for help when you need it, ask questions when you don't know something, you are not alone and just as you are here to help others, others are also here to help you.’ ... It's springtime, the time for renewal and rebirth and I'd like to ask you for whatever you can spare or are willing to donate to our new life and fresh start and thank you very much for your attention and support.”
Any support means the world to Joseph and me. Your kindness can help him rebuild and move forward. Thank you for considering a donation to help Joseph begin again.
