My Scrabbled Life

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support for my dad, Joseph Priebe, a man who has always been a pillar of strength and integrity for our family. My dad has been a beacon of unwavering faith and dedication, always putting others before himself. He moved our family to start a church, demonstrating will and immense courage and dedication. Throughout the trials of life, he remained faithful, believing that everything that happens serves God's purpose whether we understand it or not.

Despite facing his own personal challenges (one of which was having me for his daughter at times), my dad has always stayed true to his values and beliefs. He is incredibly kind and generous, and one of the hardest workers I know! He makes everyone feel valued and respected. His resilience to life’s struggles, mental health challenges, and participating in deep discussions have shaped my understanding of different perspectives and have guided my faith and produced a strong bond between us. (Always a daddy’s girl).

Prior to June of 2024, my dad was welding full-time and was blessed with the ability to work with my brother and his son Nate at his shop. During summers, the following grandkids: Josh, Kayleb, Eli, Cole, and Liam all spent time working alongside their grandpa. My dad enthusiastically went daily and found gratitude and blessings in the simple things like being able to teach the “boys” the ins and outs of shop life. He did all these things while still providing care for my mom, who is disabled. All of us know life goes unplanned, and he did his best to prepare his family to work through struggles despite trials and to pray for support and guidance to get through.

During June of 2024, my dad had double bypass surgery and since then has been struggling with recovery. On New Year’s Eve 2024, my dad was admitted to the hospital and since then has been working through multiple medical issues, mental health issues, fluid on the brain, strokes, blood pressure dropping, kidney functions, bladder functions, and swallowing issues. Currently, doctors are working hard to find a cause for all of these new issues since surgery.

We are starting this fundraiser to support his medical expenses and ensure he gets the care he needs going forward. My parents have no retirement funds invested as my dad was the main provider and facilitator of the home. The doctors are unclear of a reason for my dad’s deteriorating condition at the time, but are working diligently to get to the root causes. In addition, his Managed Medicare at this time has taken steps to stop paying for his inpatient care. (I am currently hoping and investigating if this is an error on their end because my dad is not okay, and by no means does his current medical status suggest that he should be anywhere other than the hospital at this time.)

Any monetary contribution, even as small as $5.00 or a “share,” will make a significant difference and impact his care during this difficult time.
Memories, pictures, and prayers also are helpful and mean a lot to him.
It's tough to admit when I am struggling and need help! I have watched him face stigmas and feel isolated because of mental health issues or medical issues.

Breaking down barriers and promoting understanding and support is so important.

“I am working hard to keep faith like you, dad!”
Everything serves a purpose in time.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

*Anything above and beyond that is donated other than what is needed will go towards starting a non-profit operation that helps others struggling in the community. Whether that be mental health crisis intervention or medical crisis preparation to help patients get back home where they want to be, with the appropriate support to get there!
