Hi, my name is Joseph, and I am a 51 year old autistic man with schizoaffective disorder. I live by myself and am isolated from the world thanks to severe social anxiety issues. I was working two jobs last year when I ran into issues with both of them. One of them had a reduction in force for the latter half of the year, which meant I was’t able to work. My second job transitioned to AI labor, resulting in a loss of work. I have not been able to find comparative work and my savings have been depleted. I’ve applied for disability but have so far had no luck in getting accepted. I have signed a letter of availability for the main job I work during the year, so I hope to return to work this spring and summer, but until then I still have to meet my needs.
