Our brother Joseph C. Jones was hiking (something he loves to do) on Saturday, 10/25, in Savage Gulf Park in Tennessee. He slipped and fell 25 feet. Fortunately, someone saw him fall and called 911. He was rescued, and Life Flight took him to Erlanger Medical Center.
He suffered a brain bleed, sinus fracture, vertebrae fractures, and other injuries. If insurance allows, he will be transported to an inpatient rehabilitation center where he will stay for physical, occupational and speech therapy. Right now, he is unable to stand and walk for long periods without being nauseated and dizzy, and he is sensitive to bright light. He is having trouble connecting his thoughts. We are so very thankful for the first responders and their tireless efforts in getting Joe to the helicopter and for the pilots who flew him and all the hospital staff that have assisted him in getting to this point. That being said, we estimate that Joe will be out of work for at least 6-8 weeks or longer depending upon his progress.
