Joseph Cloer and his wife, Gracie Bowman, are a loving couple who married in the summer of 2025. In March 2026, Joseph was diagnosed with classic Hodgkin lymphoma, a highly treatable cancer of the lymphatic system. The diagnosis came after he noticed a lump in his neck, which led to an emergency room visit and a referral to the University Cancer and Blood Center. During a pre-op appointment for a biopsy, doctors discovered fluid around Joseph's lungs and heart, requiring immediate hospitalization. Over two weeks, Joseph underwent four procedures: draining over a liter of fluid from his lungs, a biopsy on one of the lymph nodes, a bone marrow test, and placement of a port for chemotherapy treatments. He is now taking six daily prescriptions and receiving chemo at UCBC.
This unexpected diagnosis has left Joseph unable to work, so the couple is relying on Gracie's income to cover day-to-day expenses. The medical bills, doctor appointment fees, prescription medications, and transportation costs have quickly added up. Mechanical issues forced them to lose their car, and they now depend on a family vehicle for trips to appointments, which can sometimes be a two-hour round trip. Joseph and Gracie have applied for financial assistance at UCBC and from the government, but until approval, they need help covering medical and daily necessities. Donations will go directly toward medical bills, appointment fees, prescriptions, transportation, and over-the-counter medicines recommended to manage chemo symptoms.
Joseph and Gracie are grateful for any support during this difficult time. Your generosity will help them focus on Joseph's treatment and recovery, knowing that their community is behind them. Thank you for considering a donation to help this loving couple until further assistance is approved.
