Hello! My name is Lesly Vasquez, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for support. I’m currently raising funds for my father, Joselito Vasquez, who is just 54 years young and is fighting for his life in the ICU. He has been hospitalized since Thursday, December 12th, 2024, after experiencing severe symptoms that began with high fever and fatigue due to a foot infection. Unfortunately, the infection spread to his bones, leading to a difficult decision to amputate his right leg above the knee. This has been significant adjustment for him, he will need physical and psychological therapy to help him regain mobility.

Complications have arisen, affecting his kidneys and causing an enlarged heart. His body is retaining a lot of fluids and he is currently undergoing treatment with dialysis. Additionally, he is diabetic, which complicates his situation further.

During his hospitalization, his anemia levels dropped dangerously low, requiring a total of 10 pints of blood, which cost us $1,000. We also had to rush him to another clinic equipped with the necessary tools for his care. At that point, he was in a fragile state and had been sedated for 12 days. We incurred an ambulance fee of $200 to transport him. After finding the right clinic with an intensive care unit, we had to make a down payment of $1,800 for him to receive treatment. The dialysis sessions are extensive, requiring 72 hours of treatment, which has cost us $1,620.

He is currently located in the Dominican Republic, and unfortunately, his insurance does not cover all of his medical expenses, physical therapy, and other essential needs. Due to his health condition, he is unable to earn any income.
