The loss of Jose Gonzalez is beyond heartbreaking. He was the solid rock of the family. Kind, strong, wise and filled with love. As a young man of 51 he expected to be working for at least another 15 years. As his family tries to grapple with the loss of their father and husband due to COVID-19  they now have the added burden of mounting financial stresses.

For those who are part of the Grinnell College community, please know Jose's ashes will be buried in his father-in-law, Professor Ken Christiansen's ammo box from  WWII. Jose and Ken loved each other like father and son, and for Paula and her family this provides solace  that he will be lovingly held by Ken, for eternity.
