Help Jose have his family by his side while he goes through this traumatic time! He is in critical condition. Jose is 16 years old, he was walking in the school crosswalk and was hit by a truck. He was transported to the hospital and immediately had brain surgery to stop the brain bleed, and a part of his skull had to be removed due to swelling. This is just a start; the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time as more testing is being done. He has not woken up yet; he is being sedated due to lots of reasons: his pain level is excruciating, his blood pressure rises when they lower the sedation, his brain needs to sleep to heal, etc. Of course, his parents don’t want to leave his side. Dr’s say he will be in ICU for at least a month. He has a long recovery ahead of him!
