Support Jose Tomas: Guardian of the Amazon Needs Urgent Surgery
Help Still Needed!
Our dear friend Jose Tomas Fuentes Fuentes—a protector of the Peruvian Amazon and a vital aide to the Q'ero paqos wisdom keepers—needs our immediate help.
Recently, while traveling in the Peruvian Amazon, Jose’s truck went off a mountain road, plunging 100 meters down a steep ravine. It is a miracle he is alive, but he has sustained a serious neck injury. He is currently in Cusco waiting for a life-altering surgery that costs $10,000 USD.
Transparency & Fund Distribution:
Because Jose Tomas is located in Peru (a country currently unsupported by GoFundMe’s direct transfer system), I am organizing this fundraiser on his behalf from the United States.
To ensure Jose receives these funds as quickly as possible, here is our transparent plan for distribution:
- Collection: All donations will be collected by me (Marc Mangus) in the USA.
- Transfer: I will be personally responsible for withdrawing the funds and sending them directly to Jose Tomas via international wire transfer to ensure they reach him in Cusco.
- Direct Use: 100% of the funds sent (after GoFundMe platform fees) will go toward Jose’s surgical costs and immediate medical recovery.
