My name is Jonathan Centeno, and I am starting this GoFundMe for my dear friend, Jose Jimenez. Jose lives in El Salvador—my home country as well—and we have been close friends for over 15 years.

​Earlier today, Jose suffered a serious accident after slipping on the stairs at his home. He sustained a major fracture that requires surgery costing more than $3,000.

​Jose is a dedicated family man—hardworking, honest, and incredibly responsible. Unfortunately, his job does not provide enough income to cover such a sudden and massive medical expense. I decided to start this fundraiser to help him cover the cost of the surgery and, hopefully, raise a little extra to help him provide for his family while he recovers.

​I want to be clear that I am gaining nothing from this personally; my only motivation is to help a friend whom I have considered a brother for many years. Jose actually does not know I am doing this. If we manage to raise the funds, it would be a beautiful surprise for him to realize he has the financial means to overcome this difficult trial.
