I am posting this on behalf of one of my coworkers, Jose's son, Christian Roca, who is the hardest working individual I've ever had the pleasure to work with.
I was made aware of his father's illness & immediately pivoted to gofundme in hopes we can all raise money to assist with his father's treatments.
A message from Jose's son, Christian:
"Hi guys, I just want to share that I have one of the best families on the world (my dad and mom). My parents are originally from Peru and we have been reconnecting after twelve years until they legally moved to US in 2017. My parents love America and they are very grateful to be here with me and catch up on all that time that we were apart.
It is funny, because we still dealing with Covid-19 and we were very careful on following all the guidelines for not getting it, but we were not prepared to deal with cancer. We found out when my dad had a small pain on the back and we had to bringing him to the hospital and we found out that he had a 5-6 cm tumor on his stomach.
My Dad has a Diffuse large cell lymphoma, DLBCL/NHL. Stage III.
Now we have to deal with the price of cancer and let me tell you that is not cheap. I keep seeing the medical bills coming, but I told my dad that he need to think that this is like a broken leg and he needs to focus on his recovery because GOD will help us to find the way to get out of this rough pat. I believe in GOD, GOD gave me everything and this cancer for my family is like test for us; that is how we see it.
My mom is trying to get assistance from the hospital and cancer treatment center so we can put a end to this cancer. So far my dad got his first chemotherapy, but there are more to come; and if there is any support by any means that can help my dad on his current situation, it will be very very very appreciated. Thank you all and God Bless You."
