Help José Overcome His Life-Changing Trauma

Donation protected
Hello friends, family and community members. I am writing on behalf of José Navarro. On St. Patrick's Day, 2024, rather than planning his fun activities for the day, this local firefighter and paramedic had his life changed forever on the way home from work. At approximately 7am, José was struck on the drivers side by an intoxicated driver. He was transferred to the local trauma center with multiple critical injuries and then flown out to a trauma center in Chicago. Since this time, he has endured multiple surgeries and been in and out of the hospital to specialized rehab centers and back to the hospital for more surgeries. He has more slated surgeries to come and he is unable to walk or resume normal life for at least a couple of years with an unknown amount of permanent damage. Because of his injuries and need for treatment, he was terminated from his jobs and is unable to work. As his partner and best friend, I am asking for your help with his life, bills, and treatment management for the next few years. He requires care around the clock. Although I am a nurse with many years of experience, I cannot be there at his side 24/7 while trying to work myself to pay bills, and as I continue to serve our community and be there for him both physically and mentally. Those who know José know that he is the most selfless person who has always put others first; he was always ready and willing to lift a hand, buy a meal, make a joke, or uplift anyone he came into contact with, both on the job and in his personal life. He has been doing his best to keep up his morale and to fight hard to heal and do therapy to the best of his ability. I know that being unable to pay his bills, work, spend time with friends or family, or continue to serve the community he loves is such an immense stress for him. I ask that if you are able to help out financially, please do so with our deepest gratitude; if you are willing, pray for him and his continued healing both physically and mentally; most of all though, I ask that you think first before drinking and driving and get the message out to others to prevent them from doing the same. As caretakers, we have both often been on the other end of these stories, and we are now personally experiencing all of the life changing trauma ourselves. We are so grateful to those of you who have already reached out, helped out, and continue to pray and support us. May God bless you all in your lives and continue to make your days full and happy.
