On October 16, 2025, my dad, Jose Mendez, was trimming a tree when he fell off the ladder, suffering a seven-foot fall, breaking 7 ribs, puncturing a lung, and a head injury. Since then, he has been in the ICU in San Antonio. He has undergone two surgeries/procedures and is still in the ICU.
