MY MIRACLE CHILD

Jose Luis Rodriguez Ibañez was born on September 2, 2013, with a diagnosis of congenital hydrocephalus. He had surgery at 17 days old to place a peritoneal ventricular junction valve. After the operation, that valve was infected, causing meningitis, which kept him hospitalized, fighting for his life for 3 months in intensive care and undergoing 5 surgical interventions. They did not give us hope of life, but despite all the prognosis, he defeated the meningitis, and a new valve was placed at 4 months old.

As a result of the surgeries and the damage caused by meningitis, Jose Luis has sequelae. He convulses and had paralysis of the entire right side of his body. From that moment on, we dedicated ourselves to his rehabilitation with physiotherapy and tried to control the seizures with medications. Although a little limited since where we live is a small town without many advances in health areas, Jose Luis has not managed to walk, but he is a very affectionate child full of love. Despite his limitations and not speaking many words, he manages to make himself understood.

Everything was normal until May of this year when suddenly one day he began to decay. He was very sleepy and had a lack of appetite. We did not know what was wrong with him. The laboratories were normal, but his health was deteriorating until cerebrospinal fluid was extracted, and it was determined that the valve was no longer working, and again he had meningitis. Fighting again for his life, he defeated the meningitis, and they placed a new valve. After all this, they had to intervene urgently due to a complication of peritonitis. Apparently, the operation went well, but currently, he shows signs that he still has some infection. The doctors who are treating him recommend that we go to a city where other studies can be carried out to find the cause since his body is deteriorating, and so far, they do not know what he has.

As parents, we find ourselves in the need to ask for help for our son since we have been fighting for many years. The expenses every month are quite high, and we have added the battle of the last operations and the current treatment.

We cling to him because we see that he continues to fight and clings to life. If God made us the miracle that he is with us, we will continue fighting forever.

MI NIÑO MILAGRO

Jose Luis Rodriguez ibañez, nació el 02 de septiembre del 2003 con un diagnóstico de hidrocefalia congénita, fue intervenido quirúrgicamente a los 17 días de nacido para colocar una válvula de derivación ventrículo peritoneal, posterior a la operación esa válvula se infectó causando una meningitis la cual lo mantuvo internado luchando por su vida durante 3 meses de estar en terapia intensiva y ser sometido a 5 intervenciones quirúrgicas, no nos daban esperanzas de vida, pero pese a todo pronóstico el venció la meningitis y se colocó nueva válvula a los 4 meses de vida.

A consecuencia de las operaciones y del daño ocasionado por la meningitis jose luis tiene secuelas, el convulsiona y tuvo una parálisis de toda la parte derecha del cuerpo, a partir de ese momento nos dedicamos a su rehabilitación con fisioterapia y tratar de controlar las convulsiones con medicamentos. Aunque un poco limitados ya que en lugar donde vivimos es un pueblo pequeño donde no tenemos muchos adelantos en áreas de la salud, jose luis no ha logrado caminar, pero si es un niño muy cariñoso lleno de amor y pese a sus limitaciones y que tampoco habla muchas palabras el logra hacerse entender.

Todo estaba de manera normal hasta el mes de mayo de este año, que de pronto un día empezó a decaer, tenía mucho sueño y falta de apetito, no sabíamos que pasaba con él, los laboratorios salían normales pero su salud se estaba deteriorando, hasta que se extrajo liquido cefalorraquídeo y se determinó que la válvula ya no estaba funcionando y nuevamente estaba con meningitis. Luchando nuevamente por su vida venció la meningitis y le colocaron nueva válvula. Pasado todo esto tuvieron que intervenirlo de emergencia por una complicación de peritonitis, aparentemente la operación salió bien, pero actualmente presenta signos de que sigue con alguna infección, los médicos que lo están atendiendo nos recomiendan que vayamos a alguna ciudad donde se puedan realizar otros estudios para dar con la causa, ya que su cuerpo se esta deteriorando y hasta el momento no saben que es lo que tiene.

Como padres nos vemos en la necesidad de pedir ayuda para nuestro hijo, ya que venimos batallando muchos años, los gastos todos los meses son bastante altos a lo cual se nos ha sumado la batalla de las ultimas operaciones y el tratamiento actual.

Nos aferramos a él, por que vemos que el sigue luchando y se aferra a la vida y si Dios nos hizo el milagro que este con nosotros, vamos a seguir luchando por siempre.
