Hello, my name is Jose Felipe and as many of us who are sons/daughters of hispanic parents one of our biggest fears that I can confidently say with all the ice movement going around is for our parents to be detained. Unfortunately with the most pain in my heart me and my family are in this situation as my father was detained by ice this mothers day morning on his way to work. No mother should have to be going through this, no family should be going through this. Unfortunately that's where we find ourselves today.

As the oldest of my siblings this has put a weight on my shoulder because I have 5 younger siblings under the age of 18. I have my own family so it'll be difficult for me to provide for both. My mother works but my father was the primary provider, he moved with my mother around work, groceries, appointments, and other duties. Now with him not here I know my mother is heartbroken, and will be struggling to move around or even have the courage day in day out to go about her day knowing that my father is not here. With much love and humility, we are reaching out to ask for support to help my family through this incredibly difficult process. All the help will be used towards a lawyer and the process expenses. Any assistance no matter how small would mean the world to us and would be received with heartfelt gratitude.

Hola, mi nombre es José Felipe y como muchos de nosotros que somos hijos/hijas de padres hispanos, uno de nuestros mayores temores que puedo decir con confianza con todo el movimiento de ice que anda por ahí es que nuestros padres sean detenidos. Desafortunadamente, con el mayor dolor en mi corazón, mi familia y yo estamos en esta situación, ya que mi padre fue detenido por ICE esta mañana del Día de la Madre en su camino al trabajo. Ninguna madre debería estar pasando por esto, ninguna familia debería estar pasando por esto. Desafortunadamente, ahí es donde nos encontramos hoy.

Como el mayor de mis hermanos, esto me ha puesto un peso en el hombro porque tengo 5 hermanos menores de 18 años. Tengo mi propia familia, así que será difícil para mí mantener ambos. Mi madre trabaja, pero mi padre era el principal proveedor, se movia con mi madre al trabajo, los comestibles, las citas y otros deberes. Ahora con él no aquí sé que mi madre está desconsolada, y estará luchando para moverse o incluso tener el coraje día tras día para ir sobre su día sabiendo que mi padre no está aquí. Con mucho amor y humildad, estamos buscando apoyo para ayudar a mi familia en este proceso increíblemente difícil. Toda la ayuda se utilizará para un abogado y los gastos del proceso. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, significaría el mundo para nosotros y sería recibida con sincera gratitud.
