Jose Geovanny Sorto and his wife Eugenia are co-owners of their successful home remodeling and building company in Galveston, TX. They have 3 children and they recently bought their own home, of which they are very proud. Jose and Eugenia are from El Salvador originally, but Eugenia and their U.S.-born children are U.S. citizens. Jose has been in the U.S. since the early 1990s and has been applying for U.S. citizenship for years. Unfortunately, he had an attorney who dropped the ball and while his application was pending, ICE conducted a raid at a building supplies store where Jose was buying materials for a current remodeling project for an 89-year-old lady's Galveston home, and was randomly picked up. Despite his pending application for citizenship and his entire family, including his elderly sick mother, all being U.S. citizens, he is being denied a hearing and is currently in detention, likely en route to deportation to El Salvador. This man is being denied justice! We are helping his wife hire a better attorney, support the family while he is being detained, avoid business bankruptcy, avoid losing their home and avoid losing the breadwinner of the family. He has nothing in El Salvador; he has everything here in Galveston, TX. These are the people we want to have as our neighbors, we hope to help them get through this nightmare successfully!!!!
