Jose was the doorman in our building in Los Angeles. He knew every resident by name, held packages, watched out for the older folks on the upper floors, and was the kind of person who made a building feel like a place. In 2026 he was detained by ICE and removed to Honduras, away from his mother, his children, and his dog.

 He was diagnosed with diabetes shortly before he left. He is now managing that condition in Honduras without his family and without reliable access to the care he had here.

We are raising money for two things: Jose's medical costs, including insulin, testing supplies, and doctor visits, and attorney fees so a licensed immigration lawyer can review his case and pursue any lawful options for his return. Any funds beyond that go directly to Jose and his family. We are neighbors who care about him.
