We have met our goal! THANK YOU! Please check out our partner- Light for the Future- where Jose is at school and our connection with him was made. They are trying to find 8 new sponsors for incoming students in 2026!
Hello! This summer, we had the privilege of serving at a small high school ministry located near the city dump in Guatemala City. It was there that we met Jose — a boy with a huge smile that never fades, even in the face of immense hardship. His laughter is contagious and his spirit unforgettable.
Jose is one of only 20 students handpicked to attend this ministry school — a rare opportunity for kids whose families survive by scavenging recyclable items in the dump, making just $3–5 a day. For them, education is a lifeline. It's a chance to break cycles of poverty, danger, and despair.
But now, Jose's life is at a crossroads.
He’s been given a once-in-a-lifetime chance: Jose has been invited to Spain to try out for a professional soccer team. This opportunity could change his life forever — offering a future far away from violence and lack of opportunity, and filled with purpose, safety, and hope.
But Jose and his family simply can’t afford the $3,000 it will take to make this dream a reality. This cost includes flights, food, lodging, transportation, and passport/visa fees. With all their community living in the same desperate conditions, there’s no one they can turn to — except you.
Would you consider partnering with us?
Your donation — no matter the amount — will help send Jose to Spain, give him a shot at a future in professional soccer, and most importantly, a path of opportunity and away from violence.
We’re also asking for prayers — that God would place a mentor in Jose’s life during this journey, guide him spiritually, and keep him safe as he walks toward the future God has for him.
Let’s show Jose he’s not alone. Let’s give him the chance to run toward his dreams.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your love.
