Help Jose Bonilla Through His Leukemia Battle

El 25 de noviembre, a mi padre, José "Lupe" Bonilla, le diagnosticaron leucemia linfoblástica aguda. Ha estado entrando y saliendo de hospitales desde el 26 de octubre tratando de averiguar qué ha estado sucediendo. Lo que él creía que eran solo ganglios linfáticos inflamados y tal vez una infección de las amígdalas resultó ser leucemia.

Mi padre tendrá que soportar 8 rondas de quimioterapia. Recibirá 1 ronda de quimioterapia en el transcurso de 4 días. Después de esos 4 días, se irá a casa durante 3 o 4 semanas. Durante estas 3 o 4 semanas, necesitará extraerse sangre dos veces por semana para ver si necesita transfusiones de sangre. Luego regresará y comenzará el ciclo nuevamente. Estamos esperando aproximadamente 8 meses de tratamiento y rezamos para que todo salga bien. Durante esos 8 meses, recibirá una combinación de 7 medicamentos de quimioterapia diferentes por vía intravenosa y mediante inyecciones. Nos avisaron que las medicinas son muy fuertes y si no funciona, quizás no hay cura para mi papá.

Lamentablemente, debido a la condición de mi padre, no puede trabajar. Mi padre tampoco tiene seguro médico. On November 25th, my dad, Jose "Lupe" Bonilla was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lukemia. He has been in and out of hospitals since October 26th trying to figure out what has been going on. What he believed was just swollen lymph nodes and maybe tonsillitis turned out to be Lukemia.

My father will endure 8 rounds of chemotherapy. He will receive 1 round of chemotherapy over the course of 4 days. After those 4 days he will go home for 3-4 weeks. During these 3-4 weeks he will need to draw blood two times weekly to see if he is in need of blood transfusions. Then he will return and start the cycle over again. We are looking at about 8 months of treatment praying everything goes well. Throughout those 8 months he will recieve a combination of 7 different chemotherapy drugs through IV and through injections. The doctors have explained to us that the chemotherapy is very strong but that if it does not work there is probably no cure for my father.

Unfortunately due to my father's condition he is not able to work. My father also does not have medical insurance. We are setting up the gofundme to help pay my father's bills during this time as well as all of the medical bills he will have. Anything helps and would be greatly appreciated.
