but for my husband Jose Aguilar, it did.

Jose is a 38-year-old dental assistant, A hardworking man a devoted husband, and a loving father.

He has always worked hard to provide for his family as the sole provider for his wife and daughter. He loves watching fútbol and, more than anything, cherishes spending time with his daughter. Every weekend, he would travel to Rio Rico just to be with her—those moments mean everything to him.

One morning, while driving to work, my husband suffered a sudden stroke. In a matter of moments, his life was turned upside down.

Since then, Jose has been fighting every day on the long road to recovery. As doctors continued to evaluate his condition, they discovered a gap in his heart that will require additional procedures. He will also need to wear a heart monitor for several weeks so doctors can closely track his heart and help prevent another stroke—one that could be far more severe. This time, my husband was incredibly lucky.

Now, Jose faces not only physical and emotional challenges, but also the heavy burden of being unable to work while supporting his family. Medical bills, doctor’s appointments, heart procedures, monitoring, and everyday living expenses are quickly becoming overwhelming during this already difficult time.

Despite everything, he remains strong and determined. His greatest motivation is his family—he wants nothing more than to recover, return to work, and continue his life as it was.
