Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
I’m writing to ask for your help with something deeply personal and truly life-changing.
I’ve been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Vasovagal Syncope—both of which significantly
affect my daily life. I am no longer able to work and or drive . There is no medications I can take due to Alphagal . My doctor said this is the last option they have for me. Hank can no longer continue the training due to back injury & ivdd .
These conditions may be invisible, but their impact is anything but.
Some of the symptoms I deal with include:
Sudden and unpredictable fainting,
Dizziness, nausea, and extreme fatigue,
Heart palpitations and lightheadedness
Brain fog, weakness, and even difficulty walking or being active and Extreme Blood pressure fluctuations
Simple tasks—like getting out of bed, walking to the kitchen, or standing in line—can become dangerous. The constant fear of collapsing or passing out has left me feeling isolated and dependent on others.
But there is hope. A specially trained medical alert service dog could completely change my life.
These dogs are trained to:
Detect early warning signs before I faint
Provide physical support and help me balance
Retrieve medication or a phone if I’m in distress
Stay by my side and get help if I fall
Give me confidence and freedom to live more independently
Unfortunately, service dogs are expensive. The cost for a fully trained service dog can be over $15,000, and that’s far beyond what I can manage alone.
That’s why I’m reaching out to you—with vulnerability and hope.
If you’re in a position to donate or even just share my story, you can help me reach my goal and take a huge step toward reclaiming my independence and safety.
Your support means the world. Whether it's $5, $50, or just sharing this with others, every little bit helps and brings me closer to a life where I’m not held back by my illness.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping me move forward—with a loyal companion by my side.
With all my heart,
Josalynn Hochstetler
