Jorge Gomez is my nephew. He and his wife Sara have 2 small children. Jorge was taken to Allen hospital in Waterloo, IA on January 3rd for critically low hemoglobin.  A CT scan showed he had a large tumor blocking his transverse intestine. He was admitted into the hospital and given blood and iron transfusions.

Biopsies were taken Monday, Jan. 6th. Results came back a few days later as moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. Colon cancer.

He had surgery on Wednesday, Jan. 8th to remove the mass and swollen lymph nodes. This was a major abdominal surgery, taking over 7 hours to complete. 

Jorge has a long recovery ahead and any support you’re able to give is greatly appreciated.
