My father, Jorge Humberto Godinez, was a very good man and he was very hardworking and always went out of his way to help almost everyone. Ever since he was a young boy he had been working towards a bright future, one where he could finally have a peaceful life. Unfortunately, life is never fair; he suffered with diabetes, failing organs (liver, lungs, kidneys), brain damage, and even a few years back he had an accident while working which caused spinal injuries. But, while working on March 22nd he collapsed, medics transported him to the hospital, but could not save him, my family and I were informed he had passed of a heart attack. These unforeseen circumstances have left us without the most important man in our lives. As we grieve, my mother is weighed down by not only the emotional baggage but many financial difficulties. This GoFundMe is being created in hopes of raising money to help my mother with many medical bills and the funeral. Mi padre, Jorge Humberto Godínez, fue un hombre excelente, sumamente trabajador y que siempre hizo todo lo posible por ayudar a casi todo el mundo. Desde que era un niño, trabajó incansablemente para asegurar un futuro brillante; un futuro en el que, por fin, pudiera disfrutar de una vida tranquila. Lamentablemente, la vida nunca es justa: él padecía diabetes, insuficiencia en varios órganos (hígado, pulmones y riñones), daño cerebral e, incluso hace unos años, sufrió un accidente laboral que le provocó lesiones en la columna vertebral. Sin embargo, el 22 de Marzo, mientras se encontraba trabajando, se desplomó. Los paramédicos lo trasladaron al hospital, pero no pudieron salvarlo; a mi familia y a mí se nos informó que había fallecido a consecuencia de un ataque al corazón. Estas circunstancias imprevistas nos han dejado sin el hombre más importante de nuestras vidas. Mientras atravesamos este duelo, mi madre se encuentra abrumada no solo por la carga emocional, sino también por numerosas dificultades económicas.
