My name is Jordyn, and I am honored to have been nominated by a staff member at my school to attend the NYLF Advanced Medicine and Health Care camp this summer at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. This camp takes place on a college campus and would give me a real, hands-on look into the medical field—something I have dreamed about for years. Unfortunately, I have Stickler syndrome type 2, a condition that makes my bones break easily and has led to many medical challenges and significant debt for my family. Because of this, covering the cost of the camp is simply out of reach for us right now.

I worked very hard and was awarded a scholarship for the camp, which is difficult to achieve. However, this means I only have 10 days to raise the rest of the funds. Despite these challenges, I am determined to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. My goal is to help other kids so they don’t have to go through the struggles I have faced. Attending this camp would be a huge step toward that dream, giving me the chance to learn, grow, and see what a future in medicine could look like. I am passionate about making a difference, and I know this experience would help me get there.
