My name is Jordin, and I’m a homeschooled high school student with a deep passion for science—especially biology and chemistry. Since 5th grade, science has been both my refuge and my inspiration, guiding me through challenges and fueling my curiosity about the world. Despite being an A and B student, it hasn’t always been easy to find opportunities. As someone who lives on a low income and receives SNAP benefits, and with some high schools unable to accommodate homeschoolers, I’ve often felt left out or told I was 'too young' for certain programs. Thankfully, I have the support of my mom and grandmother, who encourage me to keep reaching for my dreams.
This year, I have the chance to attend a residential pre-college program focused on biotechnology and biochemistry. This program will allow me to gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and connect with other students who share my passion for science. It’s an incredible opportunity to prepare for my future career and to be part of a community that values learning and discovery.
I’m raising funds to cover the application and deposit fees so I can attend this program. Your support would mean the world to me and would help ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of my education. Thank you for considering a donation and for helping me take this important step toward my dream of working in science!
