Help Jordan's Family Through This Heartbreaking Time
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mikee. This is one of the hardest things to write, but it needs to be done, so here I go.
On Saturday, July 20th, my dear friend of 20 years and her son Jordan joined us for a boating trip at a lake near Eugene - a place we’ve made hundreds of trips to without incident, since my childhood.
At about 2pm, we anchored in a cove to swim, with everyone grabbing floats and enjoying the water. Jordan played with his mom Angie, both laughing and enjoying what none of us knew would be Jordan’s last moments with us.
After climbing back on the boat, the tube Angie and Jordan had been floating on was blown back into the water and began to drift away from the boat.
Seeing this, Jordan dove into the water and began to swim after it. The wind kept the tube just out of Jordan’s reach and as he got farther from the boat he began to struggle and suddenly went under. Multiple people from our group as well as another boat frantically searched the water for almost an hour until rescue divers arrived. Despite our best attempts, this funny, sweet, new father was gone.
His family is devastated. His three-week-old son is now fatherless, and his girlfriend must support herself and their baby while coping with this devastating loss.
We need your help. The cost to transport Jordan home alone is in the thousands. Please donate or share to support this family. Let's surround them with love and support during this tragic time. If you can't donate, please share this and keep them in your thoughts.
Thank you
