Introduction
Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

My name is Elaine Silverstein, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My oldest son, Jordan Silverstein, or Jordy as we lovingly call him, is in the final stages of heart failure. At just 27 years old, Jordy is facing a life-threatening condition that requires immediate and extensive medical intervention. We need your help to give him a chance at a new life.

About Jordan
Jordy is more than just a son to me—he’s a talented young man with a passion for music and a heart full of dreams. In 2016, while playing basketball with friends, Jordy noticed he was out of breath and could no longer keep up. After a series of tests, he was diagnosed with heart failure. Over the years, his condition has worsened, leading to numerous hospital visits and a growing list of medical challenges.

Despite his health struggles, Jordy has fought to pursue his dreams. He has been training as a sound engineer and working hard to follow his passion for music. His resilience and determination are a testament to his spirit, and we have always been so proud of him.

The Urgent Need
Jordy’s condition has now reached a critical point. He is being considered for a heart transplant at the Heart Transplant team at Tampa General Hospital in Florida. This is a chance for a new beginning, but it comes with significant challenges, both medical and financial.

While Medicaid has covered much of Jordy’s medical needs, there are substantial costs that are not covered. To be considered for the heart transplant, I need to demonstrate that we have the financial resources to cover two full-time post-operative caregivers for two months, as well as the costs for medications, transportation, and other post-operative needs.

Additionally, I will be one of Jordy’s full-time caregivers, which means I will be unable to work during his recovery period.

The Financial Burden
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the expenses we need to cover:

Caregivers: $20,000 for two full-time caregivers over two months.
Medications: $7,000 for essential post-operative medications.
Transportation: $3,000 for travel to and from Tampa General Hospital.
Other Post-Operative Needs: $5,000 for medical supplies, follow-up appointments, and unexpected costs.
Loss of Income: $5,000 to cover the income I will lose while being unable to work.
Total Goal: $40,000

How You Can Help
Your support will make an immense difference in Jordy’s life and our family’s ability to navigate this challenging time. Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate: Any amount you can contribute will be deeply appreciated. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and gives Jordy the hope of a new heart and a new future.
  • Share: Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and on social media. The more people who know about Jordy’s story, the greater our chances of reaching our goal.

A Message from Our Family
We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received so far from our friends, family, and community. Your love, prayers, and encouragement have been a source of great comfort to us during these difficult times. We hope that you will continue to stand by us as we fight for Jordy’s future.

With heartfelt thanks,

Elaine Silverstein and Family
