Hello friends, it’s Heide, Jordan’s mom. Jordan was randomly stabbed in the brain on the night of August 8th and it is a miracle he survived such a brutal injury. It is now almost three weeks later and he is still asleep - healing in the Neurology ICU.
Jordan also suffered some pretty severe grand mal seizures when he was 3 years old that left shadows on his frontal lobe. As he grew we realized that these shadows affected his emotional stability and impulse control. Even through his charismatic, insightful and soft personality the effects of these seizure's caused him many difficulties throughout his young life.
With this new traumatic brain injury from the stabbing there is fear but also new hope as Jordan is being embraced by the neurosurgery and mental heath unit to dig deep and help sort out these injuries. The knife cut his cerebellum which is responsible for balance, depth perception, coordination and spacial vision. He will receive top notch care in Royal Columbian hospital to try to undo the acute damage but once he is discharged I would very much like to send him to a full on rehabilitation center that focuses on all aspects of recovery - mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. I am sure such a violent attack will be brutal psychologically.
