Help Jordan Recover After a Life-Changing Highway Accident

Jordan Curtis is a 30-year-old member of our Desert Veterans team, known locally as the Desert Dogs. On June 11, 2025, Jordan was doing what he always does: working hard to keep Arizona highways clean and safe. That morning, while working alongside the 60 freeway in Phoenix, tragedy struck.

A fully loaded cement truck, close to 70,000 pounds, reacted to an accident that had just happened in front of it. In doing so, it veered straight toward Jordan and his crew. In the chaos, Desert Dog workers scattered in every direction, doing their best to escape the oncoming truck. Jordan was running for his life when it hit him.

In the video, you'll see the highway sign flattened under the weight of the truck. That sign could have been Jordan. By the grace of God and sheer miracle, Jordan was thrown up the embankment - alive but broken. Our crew rushed to him, held him, and prayed over him until emergency services arrived.

Jordan survived. And that’s a miracle. But surviving is only the beginning.

Jordan now faces a long road of recovery - physical, emotional, and mental. While workers’ compensation covers most of the hospital bills and therapy, it won’t cover the basics of day-to-day life for the next 12 months while he recovers.

We work hand-in-hand with the Phoenix VA and recovery homes across Maricopa County to give veterans and local residents a chance at redemption, stability, and a brighter future. Jordan is the best of what we hope for in our people. In a short time, he advanced from general laborer to driver. This accident happened during his first week in that new role. He was proud. He was thankful. And even now, lying in a hospital bed, his first question is: When can I come back to work?

We’re hoping to raise $38,000 to help Jordan get through the following year. Yes, it’s a big number, but only a portion of what he'll need to stay afloat, heal, and get back to the life he was building. If you can give $50, we’ll be grateful forever.
