Help Jordan Overcome Cancer's Challenges

Donation protected
Never in a million years would I think I would be doing this. No, I wasn’t one of those people who didn’t think it would happen to me; I would just prefer it would be happening to me instead of my little brother. There are no words for having to watch someone you love suffer. I think it takes a toll on you in ways you don’t recognize right away. I would do anything to trade places with my brother, but unfortunately, that’s not how life works. I can’t trade places with him, but I can do everything I can to make his life a little more manageable, a little easier. So if that means having to reach out and ask for help from others, that is what I will do.

My brother Jordan had to have emergency surgery last year to have a growth removed from his left testicle. While of course we all hoped and prayed it was benign, it ended up being seminoma. He was referred to the Illinois Cancer Clinic and he was to have 3 rounds of chemotherapy that lasted about a month total. It wasn’t easy for him, but he never once complained. Not even when his hair started to fall out. He just said, “It’s just hair.” Due to where the tumor was located, it caused a blockage issue. So he also had to have a stent placed in his left kidney to keep the flow going. But the doctors said things looked good. He was responding well to the treatment.

So, that’s where we were, after the round of chemo thinking we were in the clear and he would just have to have the stent replaced every couple of months. But, no such luck. Jordan had a PET scan last month that showed three new lesions. Now Illinois Cancer Care has referred him to another facility hoping to pinpoint the exact cause of the lesions' regrowth in new spots and to determine if he just needs them removed or if he needs more chemotherapy. But in the meantime, there are numerous appointments to go to and tests and procedures to have done. It’s getting pretty difficult financially—with having to drive back and forth out of town every other day. And now they want him to see another doctor in Indiana. That is why I am asking for help for my brother. All monies will go towards medical bills, gas, and transportation. Thank you for taking the time to read my little jibe! Be blessed
