Jordan and Makayla DeMarco lost everything, including their beloved dog, Blue, in a devastating house fire on Tuesday, April 7, in Elizabeth Township. As newlyweds, Jordan and Makayla had just started building their life together. They were married last June and had moved into their home less than a year ago. What should have been the beginning of an exciting new chapter has turned into an unimaginable loss.

Jordan and Makayla are both elementary school teachers in the city of McKeesport. Beyond the classroom, Jordan is an assistant football coach at Elizabeth Forward High School, and Makayla is a dance instructor at Tri-Bellas Dance Academy. Together, they have dedicated their lives to helping children grow, learn, and feel supported. So many students, families, and community members have been touched by their kindness and commitment.

This fundraiser is being created to help them navigate the difficult days and months ahead. Donations will go toward temporary housing, clothing, food, toiletries, and other essentials, while also helping them begin the overwhelming process of replacing what was lost and rebuilding their home and their lives. Above all, we want Jordan and Makayla to know they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. They have spent so much time showing up for others, and now we have the chance to show up for them. Thank you for your support, your prayers, and for helping remind them that they are not alone.
