Hi everyone,
My name is Abby and I am reaching out to the community on behalf of my friend Jordan (Donohue) Haidari. Jordan has been diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer, a tough diagnosis to get at such a young age. She was informed of this diagnosis just 3 days prior to her 32nd birthday, and doctors don't yet know what stage the cancer has progressed to. Even worse, she had been experiencing symptoms for years, but doctors refused her a colonoscopy because of her age. If our medical system listened to young women when they report alarming symptoms, the situation Jordan is facing now could have been prevented.
Jordan was diagnosed a few short weeks before earning her Master of Arts in Teaching from Bard College, after which Jordan and her husband Hamed had plans to move to NYC, where she would be integrating into the NYC public school system and becoming the educator she dreamed of being. Now, Jordan is faced with having to place her career and future on hold to make room for surgery, radiation, and possibly chemotherapy.
She has a long road to recovery. Thankfully, Jordan is otherwise healthy and young, and we are all hoping and praying for the best possible outcome. But with at least a year of recovery ahead of her, during which she cannot work, both Jordan and her husband will need a lot of support, including financial.
Any and all donations will go directly toward:
Hospital and surgery bills
Monthly living expenses for a year
Moving her mother to NY to help support her
Home care after surgery
Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this with friends and family would mean the world to them
Thank you deeply for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. I know Jordan will be extremely grateful for your support
