Help Jordan Hunt get a kidney

About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease. I have one kidney that is shriveled and dead and one that is operating at a whopping 5% capacity.

For the duration of the past year and a half I have been on dialysis, which if you're not familiar with is a medical technique to clean your body of toxins since your kidneys aren't. There are two types of dialysis: Hemodialysis (where they suck your blood out of a tube, filter it in a machine, and then shoot it back into your body) and peritoneal (where you inject a solution into your belly to sit there overnight while it collects all the toxins and then drains through a tube into the toilet. Lovely.)

I am currently working with the Mayo Clinic to get a transplant so that I can put all this behind me and get back to a normal life, back to teaching, and back to happiness.

I was let go from my teaching job at the end of last school year, and while I am trying to stay living independently, it has been a rough year.

If you know me, you know that one of my character flaws is not asking for help when I probably need it. It is very hard for me to reach out to people for something I feel like I can do myself, particularly for money.
